Salford needs a new song!
From the Other are working with Music Producer and Songwriter, Charlie Deakin-Davies, to undertake a city wide residency to explore Salford today and create new songs celebrating its people and history.
We have assembled a cohort of professional musicians who live, work or were born in the city and are looking for one more collaborator to join the artistic team.

This opportunity offers the chance to work collaboratively with professional musicians and artists to write and record new original song(s) inspired by Salford.
Through this project, we aim to tell the stories of the city as it is today; the people who live here, their experiences, and voices; alongside the rich folklore and historical tales that have shaped Salford’s past.
We are looking for musician(s)* who:
- Have experience writing and performing original music
- Work confidently with words and lyrics
- Use music as a tool for storytelling
- Have some experience recording in a studio environment
- Are enthusiastic about collaborating with other musicians
- Are experienced session musicians
