A Living Monument to the People of Salford

A video portrait of Salfordians, projected as giants moving across its buildings. Weaving together people and place, the ‘living portrait’ will feature local heroes and community groups across the city.

This artwork will be created by award winning artist Matthew Rosier, whose work blends film, sound and community collaboration, together with a creative team including Music Direction by AFRODEUTSCHE, Movement Direction by Company Chameleon and videography by Izzy Pye.

Salford Everywhere is set to culminate in a two-day city gathering at Peel Park in Autumn. The finale will see the film projected onto buildings, forming a monumental living portrait that will light up the city alongside a bespoke live mix created AFRODEUTSCHE, featuring Salford's rich musical heritage remixed and reworked into a contemporary and celebratory finale score.
